Skoda introduces new and affordable Epiq electric car
Skoda has officially unveiled its new compact electric vehicle — the Skoda Epiq — as reported by Zamin.uz.
The model was developed as an electric counterpart to the brand’s Kamiq crossover, which is powered by an internal combustion engine. The starting price of the new model, set at £24,950, has drawn significant attention.
This figure indicates that the Epiq will be even more affordable than the Kamiq model with a conventional engine. The information has been confirmed by influential publications, signaling the arrival of a new era in the automotive market.
The vehicle is built on Volkswagen Group’s specially developed MEB+ platform. In terms of exterior design, the Skoda Epiq features a modern and robust style in line with the brand’s new design direction.
Its distinctive T-shaped lighting elements and unique body lines give the car a distinctive appearance. The trunk offers a volume of 475 liters, making it highly practical for daily needs.
Additionally, there is a dedicated 25-liter compartment under the hood for storing the charging cable. In terms of technical specifications, customers will be offered two variants.
The Epiq 40 model is equipped with a motor producing 133 horsepower and a 37 kWh battery, allowing it to travel over 300 kilometers on a single charge. The more powerful Epiq 55 version delivers 208 horsepower and a 52 kWh battery, providing a driving range of up to 430 kilometers.
Both variants support fast charging, meaning the battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in less than 25 minutes. The Skoda Epiq also stands out for its multifunctionality.
It is not just a means of transportation — it can also serve as a power source for external devices and return energy to the electrical grid. Furthermore, energy is recuperated via a special braking system, enabling one-pedal driving.
The first deliveries to customers are expected to begin at the start of next year. This model is anticipated to secure a strong position in the electric vehicle market thanks to its affordability and modern technology.
