Uzbekistan is implementing a system for the gradual utilization of old vehicles

Uzbekistan is stepping into a new stage in ensuring ecological stability and improving road safety. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to a new initiative developed by the Waste Management Agency, a system for the gradual disposal of vehicles with a service life exceeding thirty years will be introduced in our country. The main goal of this reform is not only to phase out old machinery but also to make this process financially attractive for car owners.
Several convenient opportunities are provided for car owners within the new framework. The state will not simply collect old vehicles, but will offer to purchase them based on their market value.
Citizens will be able to choose between two options. According to the first option, the car owner will be paid cash compensation in the amount of the vehicle's appraised value.
The second option is intended for those intending to purchase a new car, who will be provided with special electronic vouchers. Through these vouchers, it will be possible to purchase new automobiles produced by local enterprises on preferential terms and with the option of installment payments.
It is also worth noting that economic measures will be taken against individuals who do not wish to voluntarily surrender machinery that has exceeded its service life and is causing serious environmental damage. Specifically, owners of such vehicles will be required to pay an ecological compensation in the amount of thirty times the base calculating amount annually.
This means that simply keeping an old car will become a significant burden on a citizen's wallet. The implementation of this comprehensive program will provide several strategic advantages for the country.
First, the amount of toxic gases emitted into the atmospheric air will sharply decrease, improving the ecological situation. Second, road accidents will be prevented by removing technically obsolete and faulty vehicles from the roads.
Finally, the efficiency of raw material circulation in the economy will increase through the recycling of old metal and spare parts. In conclusion, the time has come to say goodbye to the decades-old cars on the streets and transition to modern, safe vehicles.
