The film “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” presented at the Venice International Film Festival, left a strong impression on viewers. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The film tells the tragic story of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab. The drama lasts over 23 minutes, was warmly received by the audience, and many could not hold back their tears.
This was reported by The Jerusalem Post. The film depicts an event that took place last year in Gaza.
Hind Rajab, left alone in a car with relatives killed by Israeli soldiers, remains in fear and despair for hours. She calls the Red Crescent staff for help by phone, crying, “Please come to me, I am very scared.”
At that moment, gunshots are heard nearby. The film is based on real audio recordings and eyewitness testimonies.
The path for the ambulance was delayed for three hours, but when the aid vehicle arrived, contact with the girl was lost. A few days later, her body was found along with her relatives.
Two staff members in the ambulance also died. The film’s author, Kauter Ben Khoniya, told journalists: “The world’s media often portray those killed in Gaza as random victims.
This is an inhumane approach. Art and cinema are important tools to give them a voice and show the events taking place.”
Hind Rajab’s mother, Wissam Hamada, expressed hope that the film would serve to stop the war.
“The whole world was watching us, and we were left in death, hunger, and fear. No one reached out to help,” she said.
Additionally, NGOs such as Forensic Architecture and Earshot, as well as the UN, investigated the incident and confirmed that the car in which the girl was sitting was shot at close range with a weapon belonging to Israeli soldiers. The Israeli army denies responsibility and has not issued an official statement.
According to experts, the film not only conveyed the voice of the Palestinian girl to the whole world but also once again drew the international community’s attention to the situation in Gaza.
