The IV International Sculpture Symposium "Samarkand-2025" has started in the city of Samarkand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event is held within the framework of the CITES CoP20 conference and is aimed at promoting ecological culture, strengthening international creative cooperation, and further beautifying the urban environment through art. This year, more than 300 creative sketches were submitted by 150 sculptors from 73 countries to participate in the symposium.
Among them, 17 projects were selected, and the process of creating sculptures has begun. About 20 masters from countries such as Oman, Iran, Turkey, China, India, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Japan, and Uzbekistan are working on marble sculptures.
The finished sculptures will be installed in parks in the cities of Samarkand and Tashkent. Special workshops and necessary working conditions have been organized for the participants in the "Jannat makon" park.
Until December 7, meetings and master classes are planned to be held at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" and the Samarkand Tourism Academy. Participants of the CITES CoP20 conference will have the opportunity to observe the symposium and visit an exhibition dedicated to rare plant and animal species.
This event plays an important role in strengthening international cooperation and widely promoting art.
