Famous film director Quentin Tarantino recently announced the top ten films of the 21st century on The Bret Easton Ellis podcast. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the highest position was taken by Ridley Scott's film "Black Hawk Down." Tarantino called this film the work closest in spirit to "Apocalypse Now."
The second place was occupied by the animated film – "Toy Story: The Great Escape." In Tarantino's opinion, the sequel of this film is very close to perfection.
The third place was taken by Sofia Coppola's melancholic film "Lost in Translation." Additionally, Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" and Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood" were also included in the ranking.
Tarantino initially did not rate "Dunkirk" highly, but after watching it several times, he came to appreciate the film. Furthermore, he found it surprising that the creator of "The Hunger Games" trilogy did not sue the author of "The Royal Battle" film for plagiarism.
Tarantino's ranking not only reflects his personal taste but also once again highlights the value of the creative approaches and exciting plots of contemporary filmmakers.
