
Today, on April 30, the Uzbekistan - China Economic Forum took place in Urumqi.
At its opening, delegations led by Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Ma Sinjuy, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, participated.

It was emphasized that in recent years, the relations between the countries have been increasingly strengthened, evolving into a new model of good relations and friendship, particularly highlighting the importance of the close, sincere, and fraternal relations between the Heads of States.
In turn, it was particularly noted that such events help deepen trade, economic, and investment relations and open new dimensions of mutual cooperation.
Currently, joint projects with Chinese partners in energy, chemistry, machinery, textiles, construction materials, household appliances, and agricultural products are being effectively implemented.
In recent years, the volume of direct investments attracted from China to Uzbekistan has increased fivefold, and the number of joint ventures has tripled.

Within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway, which is strategically important for the countries of the region, has been launched.
As a result of the launch of this project, Uzbekistan will form as a major logistics hub between the East and the West.
In his speech, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan noted that more than 250 major entrepreneurs, as well as leaders and representatives from Andijan, Tashkent, Fergana, Syrdarya, and Surkhandarya regions, also visited Urumqi, drawing participants' attention to the extensive reforms being carried out under the leadership of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve the investment climate in our country and create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs.

It was noted that during the past period, the gross domestic product has doubled, exceeding 100 billion dollars for the first time. The goal is to reach this figure to 160 billion dollars in the next five years.
In recent years, more than 70 billion dollars of foreign investment has been attracted to our country. More than 14 billion dollars from international financial institutions has been directed to social and infrastructure sectors.
In the next five years, it is planned to increase the share of "green" energy sources in energy to over 50 percent.
Uzbekistan is a country with a large base of mineral resources and important metals.
Our country produces 25 million tons of high-quality fruits and vegetables annually. Fruits, vegetables, and food products worth 2.5 billion dollars are exported annually.
It was stated that our country has a preferential trade system with many countries around the world.
Within the framework of the Uzbekistan - China Economic Forum, leaders and representatives of the business circles of the two countries also held negotiations in "B2B" format.
During the visit to China, bilateral meetings were held with leaders of several major companies such as "China General Nuclear Power," "Sichuan Jiuzhou Investment Holding Group," "Xinjiang Lihua Group," the China Chamber of Import and Export of Textile Products, "Shanghai Oriental Credits Industrial Development So., Ltd," "Longze Investment Group Co., Ltd.," "Watchman Group PTE. Ltd," Beijing University of Technology, the Electrical Engineering Chamber of Commerce, and the China Leather Association, and issues of further expanding trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
