Tea imports to Uzbekistan decreased slightly in January.

Demand for tea in the Uzbek market has consistently remained at a high level. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the latest data from the National Statistics Committee, a total of 2,570 tons of tea products were imported into the country from abroad in January 2026. These import operations were carried out by seven major and six minor countries, with a total value of 3.8 million US dollars.
Analyses show that the volume of tea imports decreased slightly in the current period compared to January of last year. More specifically, 411 tons less product was imported in 2026 compared to the amount delivered in January 2025.
This change in indicators is considered a natural process resulting from market conditions and trade terms. The largest share belongs to the People's Republic of China.
From this country, not tens of thousands of tons, but exactly 2,117 tons of tea were delivered in January. This accounts for almost four-fifths of the total volume and once again proves that China is a key partner for Uzbekistan.
At the same time, Kazakhstan also contributed its share by delivering 123 tons of product. Additionally, 113 tons were imported from Iran, 75 tons from Kenya, and 41 tons from Indonesia.
The remaining 72 tons of product came from eight other countries. Although each supplier country has its own unique characteristics and quality requirements, the overall result indicates that the demand for tea products among the country's population has been met.
These data are of great importance for price stability in the domestic market and the expansion of product choice. In the future, developing cooperation in the field of tea imports and strengthening quality control will remain a priority for the state.
