Cryptocurrency industry spent $20 million on US elections

In the recent primary elections in the United States, the political action committee Fairshake, backed by cryptocurrency industry representatives, and its allies achieved significant successes, as reported by Zamin.uz.
Industry representatives spent a total of twenty million dollars on three state primary elections to strengthen the positions of candidates favorable to them. These results indicate that the influence of the digital assets sector on the country's political landscape is noticeably increasing ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
This information has been widely covered in international media. The Fairshake campaign is primarily funded by some of the world's largest cryptocurrency companies, such as Ripple Labs and Coinbase.
The organization carries out its activities through affiliated committees such as Defend American Jobs, which supports Republicans, and Protect Progress, which assists Democrats. In the current election cycle, four Republican and one Democratic candidates won confident victories in their districts in Georgia and Kentucky.
In Alabama, one candidate successfully advanced to the runoff election.
According to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, the Protect Progress committee allocated over four million dollars to the campaign of Democratic candidate Jasmine Clark in Georgia.
At the same time, Defend American Jobs spent more than seven million dollars to support candidate Andy Barr in Kentucky and a similar amount for Barr Murphy in Alabama.
Fairshake representatives regard these outcomes as an important nationwide victory for advocates of digital technologies.
Currently, Fairshake reports having a substantial budget of nearly one hundred thirty million dollars at its disposal. These funds are planned to be used in the future to counter opposition from politicians hostile to cryptocurrencies and to help elect supportive candidates into office.
However, not all investments yield the expected results. For example, in Illinois, some candidates won elections despite strong opposition from crypto organizations.
Additionally, active efforts are underway in Texas. The Protect Progress committee is spending millions of dollars to unseat politicians who have voted against digital assets from their positions.
Specifically, efforts are underway to advance new candidates open to innovation in place of politicians opposing legislation aimed at bringing order to the stablecoin and digital assets markets.
Representatives of the cryptocurrency industry intend to continue such strategic efforts in the future.
