The sale of tickets for the literary evening of Russian-Israeli writer Dina Rubina, planned to be held in Tashkent, has been suspended. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This decision was made following public outcry over her comments about Gaza. The event was expected to take place on October 10 at the Turkiston Palace, but online ticket sales on iTicket.uz were halted, and information posted on afisha.uz was removed.
The incident that triggered the controversy was an interview published by the "Dozhd" television channel. According to journalist Mikhail Kozyrev, Rubina stated that Israel has the right to eliminate the population of Gaza with acid.
These words were not broadcast, but were later distributed separately, causing widespread outrage. Rubina emphasized that her words were taken out of context, while the journalist apologized for the publication.
The full text of the interview was not published, and the television channel did not comment on the situation. It is worth noting that the writer was born in Tashkent and has been living in Israel since 1990.
