The Tashkent city administration is considering an initiative to transform Mirabad Street into a new gastronomic spot. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This zone is planned to operate on a permanent basis. The Mirabad district administration proposed creating a new gastronomic area in the Mirabad Street territory, especially in the area between Nukus and Shahrisabz streets.
The relevant documents have been submitted to authorized agencies for review by specialists. This initiative is considered a logical continuation of systematic efforts to develop gastronomic tourism in the capital.
According to representatives of the Mirabad district administration, work is also underway to further develop the existing gastronomic area on Taras Shevchenko Street. A set of proposals for the third phase of landscaping this area has also been submitted to the responsible organizations.
Currently, infrastructure improvement works are ongoing on Shevchenko Street. The construction of a modern information center and public restrooms for tourists is at an active stage, which will enhance the convenience of being in this area.
It is worth noting that Taras Shevchenko Street received the status of a gastronomic street at the end of October 2024. The first phase of the project — large-scale reconstruction and landscaping works — lasted about five months.
During this period, the street was significantly transformed, creating an attractive public space that unites many dining establishments. The development of gastronomic streets is currently an important trend in global urban planning.
Such projects not only stimulate the restaurant business and create new jobs but also help shape the city's unique appearance, enhance its tourism potential, and provide a comfortable public environment for residents.
