Construction of the Uzbekistan National Museum has begun in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This project symbolizes the revival of the country's cultural identity and is considered one of the main events dedicated to Independence Day. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with cultural, scientific, and public figures, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony.
The President familiarized himself with the design of the future museum at the construction site. This project was developed by the Japanese firm Tadao Ando Architect & Associates and the German company Atelier Brückner.
The building's architecture harmonizes circular, rectangular, and triangular shapes, reflecting the unity of Eastern and Western cultures. The complex will consist of a three-story building, a two-level underground floor, and auxiliary facilities.
The construction work will be carried out by China's CSCEC International Construction company. Addressing those gathered, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that alongside the development of all sectors of the country's life, the government pays great attention to restoring national values.
The new museum will serve as an educational and scientific center, conveying Uzbekistan's rich heritage to future generations and the entire world. Special attention was given to the problem of insufficient exhibition space in existing museums in Tashkent.
Only a small portion of the more than one million exhibits in city museums is displayed to the public. For example, at the State Art Museum, out of over 100,000 works, only 2,400 are exhibited.
The new museum will cover an area of 40,000 square meters, allowing for the simultaneous display of 10,000 exhibits. This will help solve the problem.
The new museum will provide modern conditions for storage and restoration, enabling the consolidation of dispersed collections in one place. Along with exhibition halls, a library, conference rooms, restaurants, and children's playgrounds will also be established.
Cooperation with world-renowned museums is planned, with joint exhibitions to be organized. Social media users are showing great interest in the design of the new National Museum.
Most people note that the building resembles symbols from the popular "Squid Game" series.
