More than 1300 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of a new international airport in the Tashkent region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
According to the data from the Regional Cadastre Department, the lands designated for the airport construction are located in the Urta Chirchiq and Quyi Chirchiq districts. The majority of the total area, approximately 1070 hectares, consists of irrigated lands.
This may raise questions regarding their future use. Additionally, the project includes over 112 hectares of orchards and nearly 121 hectares of other types of land.
The largest land area is provided by the Urta Chirchiq district, where 790.76 hectares have been allocated, of which more than 600 hectares are irrigated lands. In the Quyi Chirchiq district, 519 hectares have been allocated for construction, with the majority, 465.5 hectares, being irrigated land.
The new airport is expected to reduce the load on the existing airport and become an important aviation hub in Central Asia. The construction process will not only improve aviation connections but also create many new jobs and contribute to the development of the regional economy.
