President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon upon his arrival in the city of Khojand.
During the implementation of high-level agreements, urgent issues regarding the further development of bilateral friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance relations were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other and our fraternal peoples on the blessed holiday of Ramadan.
The significant increase in multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was noted with great satisfaction.
In 2024, the volume of trade exchange exceeded 700 million dollars. Cooperation projects in priority areas such as industry, energy, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and others are being successfully implemented. Effective interregional ties and active cultural-humanitarian exchanges have been established.
It was emphasized that it is important to develop measures to accelerate joint projects on practical cooperation at the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
The leaders also exchanged views on the regional agenda, including the multilateral summits to be held in our country.
