Five Uzbek nationals were detained in Egypt for violating the country's stay regulations
It has been confirmed that Uzbek nationals who violated the stay regulations in Egypt are being held in police stations in Cairo. This was reported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt.

Recently, it has been observed that local law enforcement agencies are actively conducting inspections regarding the legal stay of many foreigners in Egypt, including those who came for educational purposes.

According to reports, representatives of the embassy have made additional visits and communications with the responsible police stations located in the Nasr City area of Cairo. As of May 13, it has been confirmed that among many foreigners, five Uzbek nationals were detained for violating the country's stay regulations.

At the same time, after the presentation of specific documents confirming that one Uzbek citizen was legally residing in Egypt, efforts were made to release them from the temporary detention center. It is emphasized that the legal status of the remaining citizens will be assessed and decisions will be made in accordance with local legislation.

In order to ensure the provision of relevant prompt legal assistance, it is recommended that the embassy be informed without delay about citizens detained during such inspection activities (contact information: +20233364516, +20233361723 and Telegram: @shtabegypt).

Furthermore, the Embassy of Uzbekistan emphasized that citizens must strictly adhere to the regulations for staying in Egypt and requested that they always carry identification documents, residence permits (iqama), or student cards (university, institute, etc.) with them during their stay and movement in the country.
