Dmitriy Sennikov, a former defender of the Russian national team and Moscow's Lokomotiv club, shared his thoughts on the participation of the "Railwaymen" in the new RPL season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, a victory in the first round does not make Lokomotiv a main contender for the championship. This is just a simple start, and they will face stronger opponents in the upcoming matches.
Only after that will the team's real chances be accurately assessed. In Sennikov's opinion, the team will compete for trophy positions with the top six teams from the last season.
Among these teams are Krasnodar, Zenit, and three clubs from Moscow — CSKA, Spartak, and Dynamo. Thus, Lokomotiv must be ready for strong competition in the new season.
The team's results and performance are expected to be interesting for the fans.
