Former football referee Sergey Lapoçkin commented on the controversial situation involving Spartak player Pablo Solari during the match against Makhachkala's Dinamo in the first round of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that the Argentine player harshly stopped the opponent's attack and then angrily kicked the ball away. Both actions could have resulted in a yellow card.
In Lapoçkin's opinion, referee Vasiliy Kazartsev assessed the situation wisely and did not make a firm official decision. According to him, the rules dictate that two yellow cards should have been issued for these two actions: one for stopping the attack and the other for inappropriate behavior.
However, considering the severity of the situation, Kazartsev showed patience. The decision to send Solari off was unwarranted, as the two controversial situations that arose in the penalty area could have further escalated the atmosphere on the field.
Lapoçkin expressed these thoughts during a broadcast on the "Match Premier" television channel. Thus, the referee's actions were evaluated as experienced and appropriate for the situation.
