The Oxford football club in England had planned to move from Stratfield Brake stadium to a new stadium. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
However, according to recent information, this will not happen, at least for now. The new arena was named The Triangle, but due to its location next to an ancient forest, it was not possible to obtain permission for construction.
As a result, the construction of the new stadium, which is intended for 16,000 spectators, remains at risk. The main issue for club owner Erik Thohir is the change in the status of the forest.
When construction work was set to begin in 2023, this forest was not considered ancient. Now, however, it has been granted ancient forest status, and any impact on it is strictly prohibited.
For this reason, the stadium construction has been halted, and additional measures are necessary to resolve the issue.
