Former Russia national team, "Zenit" and "Arsenal" player Andrey Arshavin positively assessed Stanislav Cherchesov's appointment as head coach of the "Akmat" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It is reported that the local specialist will soon sign a three-year contract with the Grozny club. Arshavin noted that Cherchesov wanted to manage a team with a higher status, but agreed to this offer to avoid being out of work due to the lack of vacant positions at the moment.
He also stated that the terms and payment of the contract influenced this decision. It is worth noting that Cherchesov's last job was with the Kazakhstan national team.
He left this position at the beginning of the year. Currently, the "Akmat" team has lost in its first four matches in the Russian championship.
The team is currently in thirteenth place in the tournament table. The management of the "Akmat" club hopes that the appointment of a new head coach will improve the results.
