The Georgian footballer Zaza Janashiya once played for the "Lokomotiv" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He expressed his thoughts on the tightening of restrictions on the number of legionnaires in Russian football. Recently, the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Degtyaryov, proposed reducing the number of legionnaires in Premier League clubs.
Zaza Janashiya considers this decision to be correct. According to him, starting from the next season, new restrictions for legionnaires will be introduced in the Russian Premier League.
It is necessary to reduce the number of foreign players in the championship, as this will help strengthen the Russian national team. He believes that there should not be too many legionnaires, as it is important to train and develop local players.
Under the current regulations, Premier League clubs can have 13 foreign players, and 8 of them can be on the field at the same time. According to the new rules, this restriction is expected to become stricter, and a "10+5" system will be introduced.
This means that there can be 10 legionnaires in the club, and 5 of them can play on the field at the same time. These changes are expected to contribute to the experience of local players and the enhancement of the national team’s potential.
