Former FIFA referee Sergey Lapochkin criticized the decision of the main referee Rafael Shafeev to send off "the bulls" striker John Córdoba during the seventh round match between CSKA and Krasnodar. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the second half of the game, Córdoba directed the ball towards "the army men" defender Robert Moisés, and the ball touched his hand with his toenails. Lapochkin showed a direct red card to the Colombian player.
Lapochkin said, "What rule did he break? He is playing the ball and as a result, it touched Moisés's hand.
I did not see cruelty or harshness here," he emphasized on the "Match TV" broadcast. He also noted that only the hand was touched, not other sensitive parts of the body.
Krasnodar, reduced to ten men on the field, maintained a 1:1 draw and took the lead in the competition table. CSKA is one point behind, standing in second place.
In this match, Córdoba was the sole goal scorer for Krasnodar. For "the army men," Matvey Kislyak scored a goal and was close to a double, but after a video review, Shafeev did not count his additional goal.
