
The prestigious World Championship in weightlifting among juniors and youth concluded in Lima, the capital of Peru. The athletes of the Uzbekistan national team, who participated in this international competition, achieved commendable results and reached high indicators in terms of medal collection.
On the final day of the competition, our compatriot Qudratbek Salimjonov competed in the -109 kg weight category among youth and won a bronze medal in the snatch event. This was officially reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
Qudratbek Salimjonov's medal was the 17th medal for our team in this championship. Overall, our athletes concluded the competition with 3 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
As for the individual results of the representatives of the Uzbekistan national team, one of the brightest participants of the competition was Mohinur Esonboyeva. She significantly contributed to our team's overall result with two gold and one bronze medals. Alisher Osmanov also defended Uzbekistan's honor by winning 1 gold and 2 silver medals.
Additionally, Marjona Abdumutalova performed at a high level in the competition, securing 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. Munisbek Davletov won two silver medals, showcasing his high skill and talent.
Diyorbek Ro‘zmetov was awarded one silver and two bronze medals during the championship. At the same time, Hikmatillo Haydarov, Dilnura Kholdorova, and the aforementioned Qudratbek Salimjonov each earned a single bronze medal.
Overall, Uzbekistan's participation in the World Championship was at a high level, and the number of medals won by our athletes once again demonstrated the high potential of the younger generation in our team.
