Russia national team remains excluded from official matches

Former Russian national team player Aleksandr Samedov shared his opinion about the situation surrounding the national team. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the next training camp is planned to take place in five and a half weeks, but so far no opponents have been identified for friendly matches. This was reported by euro-football.ru.
Samedov emphasized his belief that the Russian national team will face strong European teams in the near future. He also did not rule out the possibility of Russia playing against one of the strong Latin American teams in 2026.
These views were cited by Metaratings. Currently, the Russian national team is only forced to hold friendly matches.
The reason for this is the sanctions imposed on the Russian Football Union by UEFA and FIFA four years ago. These sanctions prevent the Russian national team from participating in official competitions.
It is also worth noting that the Russian national team last played an official match in November 2021.
