Two football players imprisoned in Turkey due to betting

Two players from Turkey's "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahce" football clubs may face prison sentences due to betting-related incidents. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by euro-football.ru. The names of "Galatasaray" player Metehan Baltadji and "Fenerbahce" captain Mert Hakan Yandash are mentioned in this case.
According to local media sources, Baltadji faces up to 13 years, while Yandash faces up to 17 years of imprisonment. According to the Sabah newspaper, Metehan Baltadji placed bets on "Galatasaray" matches at least twice.
He was not in the starting lineup for those matches but was included in the squad, which gave him some influence over the game. According to Turkish law, professional footballers are required to disclose their involvement in betting activities.
However, it is noted that Baltadji did not comply with this requirement. These incidents are considered violations of football regulations and may lead to serious legal consequences.
