Shukurjon Aminova won her first gold medal in Tashkent

From February 27 to March 1, the city of Tashkent hosted a prestigious competition classified as a "Grand Slam" in judo. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the International Judo Federation (IJF), 370 judokas from 39 countries participated in this competition. The tournament was full of memorable events for Uzbek judo.
Shukurjon Aminova won the gold medal in the -57 kg weight category, bringing the first gold for the hosts. The IJF described this victory as a "golden moment for the host country."
This result was not just an ordinary victory, but Aminova's first "Grand Slam" gold in her career. UzDaily noted her victory in Tashkent as an important turning point in her international career.
Shukurjon's success placed her among the few Uzbek female judokas who have won gold at "Grand Slam" tournaments. Previously, Diyora Keldiyorova won the gold medal in the -52 kg category on February 16, 2024, in Baku.
Among men, the last "Grand Slam" gold for Uzbek judokas was recorded on July 25, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, when Abdurahim Nutfulloyev became champion in the -66 kg category. The victory in Tashkent restored the gold streak for Uzbekistan in this category.
For reference, after this victory, Shukurjon Aminova was ranked 15th in the world in the -57 kg category on the IJF page as of March 1, 2026. This tournament in Tashkent was not just an ordinary event, but a source of morale boost, new confidence, and historic achievements for Uzbek judo.
