OKMK Coach Qosimov Explained the Reasons for the Defeat

In the second round of the Super League, after losing 0:1 to the "Khorezm" team, OKMK's head coach Mirjalol Qosimov shared his thoughts at a press conference. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He spoke openly about the match, mentioning the opponent's enthusiasm and the decline within his own team. He also addressed the problem of failing to score goals and the dangers arising from set pieces.
According to Qosimov, the game was generally entertaining, but the team became complacent in the second half. This situation was also observed in the previous round against "Bunyodkor".
In that match as well, the first half went well, but in the second half, lethargy appeared. As a result, "Khorezm" did not miss their chance and scored a goal.
Although OKMK created opportunities, they failed to capitalize on them. Qosimov openly stated that the main problem was finishing.
He emphasized that the team has chances, but lacks precision in the decisive strike. The coach congratulated "Khorezm" on their victory and stressed that his team must draw the right conclusions from their mistakes.
Noting that the season started with unexpected events for OKMK, he said this should not be taken negatively but rather could serve as a reason for the team to wake up faster. When asked why the plans did not work, he pointed out that in such games, goal-scoring chances are rare, so it is necessary to make the most of the opportunities that arise.
He also noted that the team's low chance creation at the start of the championship is a warning sign. Most goals come from set pieces, which is causing problems for OKMK.
Qosimov stressed that players must stay focused from the first to the last minute; otherwise, a momentary lapse can cause significant damage. In short, OKMK has several problems: a drop in performance in the second half, decreased attention during set pieces, and most importantly — finishing.
Now the task for the Olmaliq team is clear: to correct mistakes quickly, maintain the same "golden tempo" in both halves, and not to "gift" opportunities.
