"Andijon" club officially introduced Maksim Shatskix as the new head coach yesterday. From today, the team's training has fully started under the guidance of the new coach.
Maksim Shatskix shared his initial thoughts with the club's press service regarding the reasons for accepting the offer from "Andijon," his preferred playing style, and his plans ahead of the AFC Champions League 2 tournament.
“When I received the offer from the leadership of 'Andijon,' I didn't hesitate much because I am well aware of the club's infrastructure. At the same time, knowing how passionately the fans support the club also contributed to my quick decision. Having a full stadium in every game is one of the most important aspects of football. After all, football is played primarily for the fans.
This is a new challenge for me and the coaching staff. We will work with all our strength to justify the trust placed in us and fulfill our responsible task. Achieving results that satisfy the fans to the maximum is our main goal. However, it will take some time for us to shape our views on football within the team. Only then can we create the game we dream of. Finally, we will see the results of our efforts. In any situation, our team will strive to play attacking and enjoyable football for the fans.
For now, it is too early to comment on the AFC Champions League 2 tournament, as the tournament will start in September. Currently, the main focus is on the games within the Uzbekistan championship. Naturally, we will prepare for the international tournament through these games.
I watched the last two games from the stadium and I am confident that we have high-level players in our team. There is no doubt that we will take action to strengthen the squad during the summer transfer window. But first, we need to better understand the potential of the existing squad and finish the first round properly. After that, it will be determined which positions we need to strengthen for the international tournament. Because the level of the AFC Champions League is significantly higher than the national championship. Therefore, it is certain that we will further strengthen the squad with new players in the summer,” said Maksim Shatskix in an interview with the club's press service.
