Shomurodov called the rumors about Kapadze unfounded

Uzbekistan national team striker Eldor Shomurodov, who plays for Turkish club Istanbul Başakşehir, revealed important details about changes within the national team and coaching activities in an interview with the Kun.uz YouTube channel. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to him, after Temur Kapadze joined the team, he immediately got down to work without expecting any resistance. The players also accepted this situation naturally and supported the new head coach.
Recently, various rumors circulated that the team management did not want Temur Kapadze. Shomurodov emphasized that these claims were groundless and incorrect.
In his opinion, the main issue was not with the coach as a person, but rather the risk of appointing an entirely new coach in the middle of the season. Any new coach comes with their own ideas, tactics, and requirements.
This could lead to restarting the processes already established within the team, potentially having a negative impact. Eldor Shomurodov expressed precisely this understanding.
The team leadership made a clear decision, realizing that if another coach arrived, everything might need to be rebuilt from scratch. Therefore, they tried to prevent Igor Katanets from leaving the team at that time.
In their view, since there was sufficient time before the World Cup, it made sense to continue working with this coach. Later, when Temur Kapadze arrived, the situation changed, and the team welcomed it positively.
This is because he knows the internal environment of the national team well, recognizes the players, and managed to continue work without disrupting the system. This provided stability and confidence to the team.
According to Eldor Shomurodov, claims that Kapadze was unwanted were merely exaggerated reports. The main focus was on the risk of a radical change in the team's structure.
