The second part of the press conference held after the match between “Sho‘rtan” and “Andijon” (1:0) in the 10th round of the Super League featured the temporary head coach of the hosts, Eldor Moyliyev, sharing his thoughts.
“We knew it would be a tough game”
— We knew today’s match wouldn’t be easy. A new head coach, Maksim Shatskix, was recently appointed to “Andijon.” We also considered that such changes would positively affect the team’s spirit. In the first 10-15 minutes of the game, the opponent applied pressure. However, our players fought without struggle. They demonstrated the planned game. We dedicate the victory to our fans. This result is the fruit of our team’s hard work.
“The main focus was on spirit and confidence”
— We didn’t make serious tactical changes. Since the beginning of the year, we have been playing in a 4-3-3 formation. This time, we paid more attention to the players’ mental preparation. Changing the way of thinking and strengthening self-confidence became our main tasks. After the result in the cup match, we also tried to create a positive atmosphere, — said Moyliyev.
“There is a problem with scoring, but we are working on it”
— Of course, we created several situations today as well. However, we lack precision in scoring. We are relying on young players in the attack line. One of them is a player born in 2006. We trust our boys; we have high hopes for them. We will work more in this direction during training and solve the problem, — emphasized the coach.
“We are planning to integrate youth and experience”
— We have a plan to strengthen the squad. We intend to add quality players to the defense and attack lines. There will be various pressure games in the Super League, so experienced players are needed. However, the main focus will remain on the development of young players. The management has also set this requirement — the team must show results while the youth must also develop, — said Moyliyev.
