Marseille club's new logo faced criticism from fans

The famous French football club Olympique Marseille decided to radically change its logo design in order to update its brand image. Zamin.uz reported on this.
However, this serious initiative was not received as warmly as expected and, on the contrary, sparked sharp criticism from fans. It is reported that the work on the new logo was carried out based on a thorough approach.
An official request was sent to the French National Institute of Industry in May 2025 for the project, and after a year of work, a new version in the Art Deco style was developed. Although its official presentation was scheduled for April 8, the logo leaked on social networks before the presentation and soon faced strong objections from fans.
Especially, the modern style of the design did not appeal to many. Interestingly, the agency that worked on the rebranding emphasized that it was inspired by famous car brands such as Peugeot and Citroën when creating the new logo.
This situation further intensified fan discontent, and they began to emphasize that the football club is not a car dealer. Many supporters are recalling the club's golden eras and, in particular, demanding the return of the traditional logo from the years under Bernard Tapie's leadership.
Thus, this rebranding could be a big lesson for the Marseille management, as in football not only results on the field but also traditions and symbols are of great importance to fans. Source: One.uz
