In the near future, the transfer ban imposed on the "Lokomotiv" football club by FIFA is expected to be lifted. This was reported by www.euro-football.ru.
This ban was introduced due to the club's debt to "Mariupol," particularly related to defender Marku Mampassi. The "Railwaymen" have already settled the debt.
The general director of the Moscow club, Vladimir Leonchenko, provided information on where "Lokomotiv" transferred the funds. According to him, FIFA indicated that the funds should be directed to German intermediaries.
Earlier, the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) compelled "Lokomotiv" to comply with FIFA's decision, requiring the club to pay 49,808 euros to "Mariupol" along with an annual interest rate of 5 percent starting from February 2022. In the first round of the upcoming Russian championship, "Lokomotiv" will compete against the "Sochi" team.
This situation is expected not to affect the club's operations and not to negatively impact the players' preparations. Thus, "Lokomotiv" is being released from the transfer ban by fulfilling its obligations.
