Skype has officially shut down: users will be transferred to Teams

Microsoft Corporation has announced the cessation of the Skype messenger's operations, according to Kursiv Media. This decision affects both free and subscription-based users of Skype, while only the Skype for Business corporate platform will continue to operate.

Microsoft is offering users the Microsoft Teams application, which includes Skype's core features — chats, voice, and video calls. Users can register for Teams using their existing Skype account, in which case contacts and messages will be automatically transferred. Users will be notified about this in the application.
