Former Italian striker Alberto Gilardino has been appointed as the head coach of the "Pisa" football club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The club's press service announced this. A two-year contract was signed with the 43-year-old young coach. The contract includes an option for automatic extension for another year.
During his previous career, Alberto worked at the "Genoa" club. It is worth noting that "Pisa" finished second in the Serie B tournament this season and was promoted to Serie A. In the successful previous season, the team was managed by Filippo Inzaghi, but he decided to continue his career at Sicily's "Palermo" club during the summer break. Gilardino was the head coach of the "Genoa" team from 2022 to 2024.
He is also an experienced coach who has managed "Rezzato," "Pro Vercelli," and "Siena." In his new position, he is expected to work hard to lead the "Pisa" team to greater heights.
The collaboration between the club and the coach is aimed at enhancing the players' performance and strengthening the team.
