The former president of the "Spartak" club, Andrey Chervichenko, shared his thoughts in an interview with "Euro-Futbol.ru" about who might leave "Zenit" during the summer transfer window. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, having three main strikers in the team - Sobolev, Kassyerra, and Lusiano - is not advisable, so it is highly likely that one of them will leave the team. Chervichenko believes that especially Sobolev should leave "Zenit," as his performance last season supports this decision.
Moreover, it is not out of the question that no one will pay even half of the price set for Sobolev, which means he could be temporarily loaned out, and another club would struggle to cover his salary in the contract.
The 28-year-old Sobolev moved from "Spartak" to "Zenit" for the 2024/25 season, with a transfer fee of 10 million euros. Under the leadership of Sergey Semak, he played a total of 31 matches across all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists.
According to the popular Transfermarkt portal, Sobolev's market value is currently estimated at around 6 million euros. This indicates that he is valuable for "Zenit," but there is a need to reassess his position in the team.
During the summer transfer window, there is a significant possibility that "Zenit" will refresh its squad and part ways with certain players. This process will depend on the team's strategy and goals for the upcoming season.
