Aleksey Ryskin, who serves as the sports director of the "Rostov" team, expressed his thoughts on the qualifying process for the group stage of the Russian Cup. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He noted that the qualifying process was not broadcast live and representatives of RPL clubs did not participate in it. This led to various rumors about the lack of transparency in the process. According to Ryskin, there is disappointment with the qualification, as instead of promoting the tournament, distrust and negative opinions have emerged.
He also mentioned that the "Rostov" team requested permission from the Russian Football Union not to be placed in the same group as "Krasnodar." This was done due to complex logistical issues between the two clubs.
However, the RFU did not satisfy this request. The results of the Russian Cup qualifiers determine the teams' chances of advancing to the next stage and aim to ensure an exciting competition throughout the tournament. The transparency and fairness of the qualifying process are crucial for maintaining the competition's reputation.
Football fans and experts expect openness in such processes. Therefore, to prevent such situations in the future, organizers need to implement stricter measures.
