Veteran of the "Dinamo" team, Vladimir Granat, shared his thoughts on the random distribution of opponents in the Russian Cup competition in an exclusive interview with the website "Evro-Futbol.ru". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the random opponents for the group stage of the competition are not bad. The game against "Krasnodar" could be interesting, but it is not a match of great significance since the competition is still in the group stage.
While discussing the standings in the group, Vladimir Granat emphasized that there are equal chances for the first place between the "Dinamo" and "Krasnodar" teams. He also mentioned that there is an opportunity for teams to change their lineup in these games. The random distribution of opponents by the "Dinamo" club was criticized for not being broadcast live and for the absence of team representatives.
Vladimir Granat stated that he agrees with the team on this matter, but emphasized that if the rules are not so strict, the mandatory participation of representatives is not necessary. He also mentioned that conducting the final distribution live could be better for viewers and clubs. In the interview, he expressed no doubt that the random distribution of opponents would be fair, highlighting that three teams would emerge from the group under any circumstances and that a strong opponent would always be found for any weak team. Discussing the absence of Jorge Carrascal at the beginning of the "Dinamo" training camp, Vladimir Granat stated that the likelihood of him not remaining with the team is high.
He added that despite the player's current contract, he should maintain a connection with the club. While talking about the reasons why legionnaires sometimes allow such behavior, Vladimir Granat mentioned that the requirements for legionnaires in the Russian national team are less stringent. He also added that many foreign players are technically on par with local players. In turn, it became known that Carrascal has signed a contract with the "Flamengo" club, and it was stated that he should leave the team.
This is not only a matter of money but also due to the player's attitude. It was emphasized that trust cannot be placed in such a player in the future. At the end of the interview, it was reminded that both young players and fans need to deeply understand these issues and that it is necessary to enhance the culture of football.
