Lawyer Andrey Aleshkin, representing the interests of Leonid Sobolev, the co-owner of the "Torpedo" team, expressed his opinion on the possibility of expelling the "autoworkers" team from the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Sobolev was previously detained for attempting to bribe a judge. According to the lawyer, there is no basis for expelling the team from the RPL, and such a decision cannot be made.
He assessed this as an action that is completely inconsistent with the functions of the Russian Football Union. Earlier, it was reported in the media that there were rumors about the potential expulsion of the "Torpedo" team from the Russian Premier League.
The team notably secured second place in the Melbet First League competition at the end of the last season, returning to the elite division. At the same time, the "Torpedo" team is striving to maintain its reputation in sports, remaining true to its historical traditions even in this complex situation.
The matter is currently under review by official bodies, and the results are expected to be announced in the coming days. Football fans and experts are closely monitoring the situation.
