
On August 23, 2025, a prestigious international championship dedicated to technical creativity and robotics — "Robot Wars" — will begin in Perm, Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In this competition, 28 teams from various countries around the world will participate. Among the participants are representatives from Iran, Kazakhstan, India, Brazil, Belarus, China, and other countries.
The tournament consists of two main parts: the opening ceremony and show prologues, as well as direct combat matches. Combat robots will compete in two weight categories: heavyweight (up to 110 kg) and lightweight (up to 1.5 kg).
In the first stage, 16 teams will participate in the heavyweight category, and 12 teams in the lightweight category. Among these teams, the robot builders from India and Kazakhstan deserve special attention.
The championship will feature not only experienced specialists but also students studying in technical fields. Teams from Russia's leading universities — MISIS, Izhvesk Technical University named after Kalashnikov, and Bashkir State Agrarian University are expected to participate.
A total of 306 applications have been received for the 2025 season, of which 112 teams have been selected. 64 teams have registered in the heavyweight category, while 48 teams have registered in the lightweight category.
Teams from India are considered the most active, with 14 applications submitted. Brazil and Belarus each have 4 teams participating, while 2 teams will represent China.
Additionally, participants from Pakistan, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia are also present. The organization of the championship is actively supported by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development and a non-profit organization called "Engineers and Robots."
This organization is also participating as the tournament operator.
