Apple is planning to change its traditions and enter the mid-range market in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Rozetked, the company is developing a budget MacBook model based on the chip used in the A18 Pro phone. The new laptop will feature a 12.9-inch screen, and its price is expected to be around $600–700.
This is significantly cheaper than the current MacBook Air models, which start selling at a minimum of $999. This new MacBook is primarily aimed at users with limited budget options.
The product is not designed to compete with iPad and Chromebook devices in the education sector, but rather to be developed for the general public. Apple has not produced such a low-priced laptop in the last decade.
The production process of the budget MacBook will be carried out by Taiwan's Quanta Computer. The production of some components will begin at the end of this year, and the full model is expected to be presented in early 2026.
This news could open a new segment in the Apple products market.
