Apple is planning to implement the fall detection feature created for the Apple Watch in other wearable devices, including the Vision Pro headset, smart glasses, and even contact lenses. This is based on a recently announced patent by the company, as reported by pepelac.news.
The fall detection technology identifies the user's fall through the accelerometer and gyroscope inside the Apple Watch. If a fall occurs, the device prompts the owner to confirm their status or call for emergency assistance. If the user does not respond and remains motionless for a minute, it automatically calls emergency services and sends the exact location and potential condition. However, this feature does not work in Russia.
The application of this feature in smart glasses and contact lenses allows for a more accurate assessment of the user's condition through additional biometric data such as eye state and pupil reaction.
