The US government and China have reached an important agreement regarding the TikTok platform. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Now, TikTok's operations in the US will be fully controlled by American companies. Six out of seven seats on the platform's US board will be given to American experts.
This agreement is expected to be officially signed in the coming days. Previously, it was necessary to separate TikTok's US operations from China's ByteDance company.
In recent years, this decision was delayed several times, but it was deemed important to implement it from a security perspective. From now on, users' personal data and privacy will be overseen by Oracle.
Additionally, the platform's content distribution system will also be managed by American experts. This will further strengthen user security.
The Chinese government also approved the negotiations conducted between the companies. The main issue of the agreement is the ownership of the algorithm, which manages the content of 1.7 million American users.
These changes are aimed at ensuring the transparency and security of TikTok's operations.
