The European Union plans to create a new defense system against Russian drone attacks. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Recently, drones entering Polish airspace have made European security a pressing issue once again. In this regard, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed a defense system called the "drone wall".
This system consists of cameras, radars, and sensors that detect drones, through which enemy drone movements are identified and neutralized. The experience from Ukraine is also planned to be applied in this project.
However, major countries like Germany and France consider this plan complex and expensive. Additionally, there are disagreements among all countries regarding the project.
Some countries prefer to manage the defense system themselves rather than having the European Commission oversee it. Currently, the project has not yet received final approval and discussions are ongoing.
The European Union is seeking an effective and cost-efficient solution to strengthen regional security.
