Today, on October 21, a video conference meeting dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence technologies was held under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state emphasized that artificial intelligence will lead humanity to a new stage of civilization. According to him, the whole world has entered the era of artificial intelligence, and these technologies are widely used in the economy, education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance systems.
Whoever researches in this field and achieves results will be the winner. According to calculations, by 2030, the artificial intelligence market volume is expected to exceed 20 trillion dollars.
Uzbekistan has also adopted special decisions and created legal frameworks to develop the sector. Within a short period, more than 30 pilot projects have been implemented in state services, banking and finance, security, and transport sectors.
Although the volume of AI-based services is planned to reach 1.5 billion dollars by 2030, international experts estimate the country's potential at 10 billion dollars. The President instructed ministers and regional leaders to dedicate at least one day per week to the development of artificial intelligence.
He emphasized that, based on foreign experience, such technologies can be effectively implemented. Examples related to economic efficiency were presented at the meeting.
Many enterprises have reduced costs by up to 10 percent through digitalization, and it was noted that this figure increases further when artificial intelligence is added. In some sectors, artificial intelligence is working effectively.
For example, the justice and tax authorities have established an online consultation system, and customs have automated the risk management system. In the field of geology, a project is being developed to increase metal yield in ores by 1-2 percent using video analysis.
It was emphasized that this alone could bring an additional income of 20 million dollars annually in the geology sector. At the end of the meeting, the President noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence is not only the basis for economic growth but also for the country to enter a new stage of development.
Therefore, the development of this sector will remain one of the priority directions of state policy.
