The Competition Appeal Tribunal of the United Kingdom has ruled a collective claim against Apple company for 1.5 billion pounds sterling. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The court supported the plaintiffs' demands. It was reported that this collective claim was filed on behalf of approximately 20 million users in the country.
The claim was made based on dissatisfaction with Apple company's policy in the App Store application store. The company is accused of abusing its market dominance by charging developers an unfair 30 percent commission.
According to the court's decision, from October 2015 to the end of 2020, Apple hindered competition in the app market and charged developers excessive commissions. The judge emphasized that the plaintiffs have the right to receive compensation.
The final decision regarding the amount of the fine and other measures against Apple company will be determined at court hearings held in November 2025. This case is considered to be of significant importance within the framework of competition law.
