The term "O'ron": Caused misunderstanding among users

In July 2025, the Terminology Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers approved Uzbek equivalents for 40 foreign words. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Among them was the replacement of the widely used word "password" with "o'ron." The new term was primarily introduced in government services, particularly in the Electronic Digital Signature system.
As a result, the phrase "change the password" was replaced by "change the o'ron." This has caused misunderstandings and humorous situations among many users.
Internet users have reacted differently to this change. Some consider this move an effort to develop the language, while others say the new term has become incomprehensible to ordinary people.
At the same time, some users believe that the new terms enrich our language but emphasize that time is needed to adapt to the changes. This change may create new opportunities in our language, but its success largely depends on how quickly users adapt to the new terms.
