Amazon to cut 16,000 employees globally

Amazon plans to lay off another 16,000 employees worldwide due to increased competition in the field of artificial intelligence. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Bloomberg, this decision was made to reduce internal bureaucracy within the company and increase employees' personal accountability. In September, it was reported that Amazon employed 350,000 office workers, with 4.6 percent of them planned to be laid off.
The company's total number of employees is 1.57 million, most of whom work in warehouses. The first wave of layoffs at Amazon took place in October 2025, when 14,000 people were dismissed.
This process continues as part of the company's strategy.
