Apple Removes 512GB Memory Option from Mac Studio

Apple has discontinued the 512 gigabyte RAM option for Mac Studio computers. Zamin.uz reported on this matter.
Now, the maximum memory capacity for these devices is limited to 256 gigabytes. Although Apple has not officially explained this decision, experts attribute it to the global shortage of DRAM memory chips.
This situation is part of a series of widespread issues in the technology sector. The recent changes have affected not only memory capacity but also pricing.
Specifically, the price for models with the M3 Ultra chip and 256 gigabytes of RAM has increased from the previous $1,600 to $2,000. Currently, customers who have ordered a 256 gigabyte Mac Studio will need to wait until May to receive their devices.
According to analysts, the increased demand for Mac Studio, particularly due to growing interest in deploying artificial intelligence tools locally, is causing delivery timelines to extend. Although Apple has the ability to maintain a more stable memory supply compared to other companies, global raw material shortages are affecting all manufacturers.
In the coming years, specifically in 2026, Apple is expected to unveil new generations of Mac Studio equipped with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. Until then, users will have to make their choices under the existing constraints.
