Apple earned over one billion dollars from artificial intelligence apps
Apple continues to seek answers to various questions due to delays in the comprehensive rollout of its updated Siri assistant and artificial intelligence capabilities. Zamin.uz reported on this matter.

However, during these processes, the company has been successfully generating significant revenue from the artificial intelligence sector through its App Store marketplace. Data provided by global analytical firms and financial publications indicate that Apple is expected to earn over one billion dollars in commission fees from third-party developed artificial intelligence applications throughout this year.

The majority of this revenue stems from subscription services sold within Apple's unique digital ecosystem. The company typically takes thirty percent of payments made in the first year of subscription services and fifteen percent in subsequent years as a commission.

According to analysts' conclusions, artificial intelligence app subscriptions are likely to bring nearly ninety million dollars in commission revenue to Apple next year, with two-thirds of this amount attributable solely to the ChatGPT system. Reports indicate that an additional five percent share comes from xAI's Grok service.

Reports highlight that Apple's monthly commission revenue related to artificial intelligence amounted to thirty-five million dollars in January 2025, rising to one hundred and one million dollars by August. Although user interest in the ChatGPT system has slightly decreased from its initial peak, this sector remains a significant part of Apple's rapidly growing services division.

Especially in comparison to the massive financial investments some competitors are making in artificial intelligence infrastructure, Apple is achieving results with significantly lower costs through this model. Apple still relies heavily on partners in developing its artificial intelligence direction, and the new Siri experience is expected to be supported by Google's Gemini system.

Meanwhile, after OpenAI acquired a startup associated with former Apple design chief Jony Ive, it is moving closer to the physical devices market. This process ultimately creates a new situation that could turn OpenAI into a direct competitor to Apple in the core devices market.
