Personnel changes will be made in Apple's leadership team

According to an official company announcement, Tim Cook will move to the position of Executive Chairman of the Board, and Jon Ternus will replace him as the new CEO. This personnel change is scheduled to officially take effect from September 1, 2026.
Under the new arrangement, Tim Cook will work closely with Jon Ternus during the summer of this year. This measure is being implemented to ensure a seamless and secure transition of the management process.
In the role of Executive Chairman, Tim Cook will focus on the company's strategic directions, particularly on developing relations with government bodies and politicians. Throughout his career, Tim Cook described holding the position of CEO as the greatest honor of his life.
He highly praised Jon Ternus's engineering skills, passion for innovation, and integrity, emphasizing that he is the most suitable candidate to lead the company into the future. In turn, Jon Ternus expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to serve Apple's primary goals.
He considers himself lucky to have worked under experienced leaders like Steve Jobs and Tim Cook and holds great hopes for the results to be achieved in the coming years. Additionally, Arthur Levinson, who has served as the company's non-executive chairman for 15 years, will become an independent director starting from September 2026.
Jon Ternus will also join the board of directors starting on that same date. Arthur Levinson noted that under Tim Cook's leadership, Apple has become one of the leading companies in the world.
He stated that he considers Jon Ternus a worthy successor to Tim Cook and is fully confident that under his management, the company will reach even greater heights.
