Apple introduces new technologies for people with disabilities

On the occasion of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Apple introduced major updates to its operating systems designed to assist people with limited abilities, as reported by Zamin.uz.
According to company CEO Tim Cook, the current rollout of the new artificial intelligence platform has taken inclusive services to an entirely new level. At the same time, special attention was given to preserving users’ personal data and privacy.
These innovations aim to create equal opportunities for everyone to benefit from technology. One of the most significant changes is a system for controlling wheelchairs using Apple Vision Pro spatial computer, designed specifically for individuals with limited mobility.
Thanks to the device’s eye-tracking technology, users can now control their wheelchair simply by looking at it—without expending any physical effort. This solution can work in conjunction with various mobility systems via wireless connection or a special wired link.
This represents a major breakthrough for people who face difficulties in independent movement. Additionally, the image description feature has been further enhanced using neural networks.
Now, iPhone users can point their camera at an object using a dedicated button and ask voice questions about it, receiving accurate answers in real time. The Magnifier app has also been updated with a new, convenient interface that can be controlled through simple conversational phrases.
These improvements help people with low vision better understand their surroundings. The voice control system now better understands natural human speech.
This relieves users of the need to memorize complex and rigid command sequences. The dedicated research assistant has been expanded with the ability to prepare concise summaries of scientific articles and complex documents, as well as translate them while preserving the original meaning.
Importantly, all processes are performed directly on the device to ensure security and are not transmitted to external servers. Apple’s efforts once again confirm that modern technologies are grounded in the principles of humanism.
