Microsoft is threatening a specialist who announced security flaws with a lawsuit
Microsoft Corporation is threatening to take legal action and contact law enforcement agencies against an independent specialist who publicly disclosed a number of security vulnerabilities in its software products and the methods for exploiting them. Zamin.uz reported on this.

This situation has once again made the issue of responsibility and cooperation between major technology companies and independent cybersecurity researchers a pressing topic. On its official page, the company sharply criticized the researcher, who operates under a secret pseudonym, for publicly announcing serious flaws in the system.

International technology publications are reporting on this. Company representatives emphasized that the specialist had not previously notified the developers about the identified errors.

As a result, hackers and malicious actors gained the ability to attack protection systems and data encryption tools. Microsoft's digital crime fighting unit characterized such actions as aiding criminal activity and stated that it would cooperate with law enforcement agencies worldwide.

However, the researcher claims that they attempted to contact the company, but their account at the security center was blocked without justification. As a result of this dispute, the researcher's pages on major software platforms were also disabled.

This incident has sparked a wave of widespread indignation within the cybersecurity community. Many industry experts criticized the company's approach, expressing concern that such actions could dampen the enthusiasm of independent researchers to find system errors in the future.

According to experts, instead of threatening, it is more appropriate for tech giants to establish healthy communication with security specialists and jointly eliminate identified deficiencies. Negotiations on this issue are currently ongoing.
